Cookie Policy
This policy explains what cookies are, exactly which ones emergencycleanuk.co.uk uses, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how to turn the optional ones off. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
Change your cookie preferences
You can change your mind at any time. Turning off analytics and advertising cookies will not affect your ability to use the site, request a quote or contact us.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies let a site remember things between pages and between visits — whether you're logged in, what you clicked, whether you've already dismissed a banner. Similar technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage do much the same job, and this policy covers them all.
First-party cookies are set by us. Third-party cookies are set by another company whose service we use on the site (for example Google). Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser; persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them.
2. Your consent
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we can only set non-essential cookies with your consent. So:
- Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically. The website cannot work securely without them and no consent is required by law.
- Analytics and advertising cookies are not set until you accept them via our cookie banner. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, they are not set.
You can withdraw consent at any time using the button above, or by clearing cookies in your browser — the banner will then reappear on your next visit.
3. The cookies we use
Strictly necessary
Always on · No consent neededOur website is built and hosted on Squarespace. These cookies keep the site secure, keep forms working and let the site remember your cookie choice. They do not track you for marketing purposes.

Analytics
Optional · Only with your consentWe use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use our site — which services people look for, which pages are unhelpful, and whether the site works properly on their device. This tells us what to fix. The data is aggregated; we do not use it to identify you personally, and IP addresses are anonymised by Google before being stored.

Advertising
Optional · Only with your consentWe advertise on Google. These cookies tell us whether an advert actually led to a call or an enquiry, so we're not wasting money on ads that don't help anyone. They may also be used by Google to show you our adverts on other sites you visit.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |

Call tracking. Our advertising tag records when a visitor taps our phone number so we can tell which adverts and pages generate calls. It records the fact that a call button was pressed — not the content of any call.
4. Third-party services and embedded content
Some pages include content served by others. When that content loads, the provider may set its own cookies, governed by its own privacy policy rather than ours:
- Google Fonts — used for typography across the site
- Google Maps — where we show our coverage areas
- Google Business Profile and Trustpilot — where we display customer reviews
- Embedded video (e.g. YouTube) — where a page includes a video
To understand how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
5. Controlling cookies in your browser
Independently of our banner, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies will break parts of most websites, including ours.
You can also opt out of Google Analytics across every website you visit using Google's browser opt-out add-on, and control personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com.
6. Changes to this policy
If we add or remove a tool that sets cookies, we will update this page and the table above. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
7. Contact
Questions about cookies, or about anything in this policy, come to us directly: info@emergencycleanuk.co.uk. How we handle personal information more broadly is set out in our Privacy Policy.
